As I may have mentioned, I’m running a marathon his autumn for a children’s cancer charity. If fate leaves you with spare pennies before 30th October, feel free to click on the picture link in the sidebar and put them to good use.

  1. I am in awe. I manage 1/2 a kilometre on the treadmill before collapsing. However, I can do a further 2 kilometres on the crosstrainer. I will empty the piggy bank for some sponsorship sir. Go, go go!

  2. I’m off to click on the picture of someone who is a MUCH better person than I!

Running for children with cancer… you really are too good to be true, you know.

  3. minks – the key is (I kid you not) to eat Jelly babies as you run the course.
Catherine – Don’t make me trot my sins and shortcomings out in the name of modesty. If you want a true picture of moral bankruptcy, Penny will be pleased to provide particularas 🙂

  4. Moobs
Excuse my ignorance but can we on the other side of the pond donate? And where might one find that funny little L sign on one’s computer?

  5. It seems to have worked for Catherine. When I donate on US sites I enter the dollar amount and it is converted on my credit card statement into pounds sterling

  6. Sorry for the piddly sum moobs, but as Lenny Henry says, every penny counts. And when my dad did it he only got 50p out of me. But then I was only about ten and it was a week’s pocket money…

  7. Orft you go then, moobs.
LT-Girl did the London Marathon in 2002 and claims she smoked 10 fags en route and lurched over the line clutching a bottle of lager. The scary thing is, it’s probably true.

  8. You are a good man, Moobs. Running a marathon is a huge feat to undertake. And running one for charity…well, that just shows you have a good heart. I will be back to make my donation when I have my purse handy. Right now, I’m heading off to bed cuz it’s late and I’m trying not to break any of my commandments, ya know?

  9. Moobs! You ROCK! What a great cause, and words cannot express the laughter that exploded from me when I read the caption of your photo link. I hope that your grief process, for the loss of the man-boobs, is not too excruciating.

Unfortunately, I went to donate to your cause and realized that I cannot do so without surrendering my blogonymity … so I will be making a silent donation to the charity, without using your name. While it will not help your own personal fundraising goal, it will contribute to the same cause. So run for the 20 pounds (of cash, not flesh) that I will donate.

  10. Good On you Moobs!

I am organizing a dance for my 40th where all the proceeds to go to cancer research…

    I’ll be cheering for you!

  11. Are you a Dubliner – or just traveling there for the marathon? (I’m a big fan of Gibney’s Pub in Malahide… almost had a bloke called Nyal banned from there once for scaling the walls to the roof to steal a Garden Gnome for me…)

p.s. some have said that Angle of Repose has a slow start, so if you feel that way, keep going. TRUST ME!!!
