Little S has expressive speech delay. Two months ago she had a vocabulary of about 10 words of which half were names. When she come to live with us at the end of February, she could not say her own name or that of her sister even though she is fast closing on 3.
I am proud to announce that she now has several 3 word sentences in her armoury. Here they are:
“Daddy do it!”
“Daddy hold it!”
“Daddy fick [fix] it!”
“Daddy get it!”
“Daddy find it!”
“No! Naughty Daddy!"
I cannot help but feel that a pattern is emerging and it is not boding particularly well for daddy.

I don’t think she would ask for you so much if she didn’t love you. That’s so sweet. Well done Little S x
This is really marvellous. Very, very sweet!
Heartstrings being tugged! Adorable!
Sounds like you are doing just fine.
and yet, her daddy is so obviously charmed
Lovely! x
Hehehe – and yet I think, also, that Daddy secretly loves it. How wonderful that she’s coming on so well. x
Ha! That’s wonderful!
Having mastered the imperative, the world is now her slavish oyster!
That’s wonderful news
Lesley – that is my new nickname for her: “The imperative voice”
Katja – How could you think such a thing. Harumph
See, she just didn’t have a court worth ordering about until now and was smart enough not to bother issuing directives until they would be carried out to her high standards.
daddy’s work is never done xxx
Little girls know full well how to wrap their daddies round their pinkies … who needs words?
