tenuouswinner

As the saying goes: “the People have spoke … the bastards”. Having carefully counted the votes the results are as follows:

The International Tenuous Connection Award 2007 ™

There was a runaway winner here – buoyed by a late surge of votes from first time visitors to the site. There’s a lesson there for the rest of you to learn … amateurs! The connection is a standout in a very stong field: CRONZNET a bow.

The UK Tenuous Connection Award 2007 ™

Despite a number of recounts (the relevant number being zero), I could not separate two nominees so, as the moths in my wallet burst into tears, the winners are: LUCY CHINTZ and URBANCHICK

Winners are encouraged to email me at moobs[at]moobz.com so that I can make arrangments to get the plonk on the way. Losers should spend the next 12 months diligently trying to put a bit more distance between themselves and the glittering world of celebrity.Tenuousness is next to Godliness!

  1. Congratulations! Can we get a translation now? I stumbled on “flashlight tag” as well. -D.

  2. Applauding in a very enthusiastic way while secretly hoping they fall over on their way up to the stage… Big smiles!

Totally deserved…. Am going to have to try really hard to have tenuous connections this year… Am training hard in the only way I know how…. drinking hard and watching Star Trek

  3. Oh my! I think I might cry!
Story related to this: my cousin’s father carries around a newspaper clipping everywhere in his wallet about when his grandmother was in the eye-losing crash with Sammy Davis Jr.
I think we can all learn from this story.

  4. Yay, I voted for a winner.

I didn’t know I could get further from the glittering world of celebrity. Next year, can I have voting for (and attending the same uni at the same time as) Lucy as my link? That seems rather tenuous.

  5. Oh well… I shall just have to comfort myself with the thought that it was my close proximity to fame and glamour that disqualified me from this one…

In other news, OK, I’ve finally made the move from 20six … you are all cordially invited to my blog warming at my new home…

  6. Flashlight tag was the precursor of laser tag. In total darkness you “flashed” the other players and garnered your “scores” accordingly. Sounds much more sexy than it really was.

Congrats to the other winners, and thanks to all who shared such silliness!

  7. Congratulations to the winners! Richly deserved.

Enjoy the glory while it lasts. You have absolutely no hope of winning again next year – I have an *absolute knockout* lined up.

  8. Way to go, Sis! (aka Cronznet) I’m lucky to live close enough to share the reward!! You are going to share, right?? Right?!!

Congrats to the winners. That was great fun.

  9. Damn. I never win anything. Do the rest of us get a consolation prize, a keychain or someting?

YOU MUST HAVE SOME MOOBZ KEYCHAINS LYING AROUND, DON’T YOU?
